Remove compression stocking with Steve Complete without removing the Steve EasyON

New way of using Steve Complete (without removing Steve EasyON)

After its introduction a few years ago, there are now many satisfied users of the Steve Complete compression stocking puller worldwide.
As a developer of a complete range of compression stocking aids, we are aware that every user is unique, just like every user situation. With Steve Complete we have tried to develop an aid for putting on and taking off compression stockings that allows each individual user to put on and take off his or her compression stockings easily.

The Steve Complete can be used in different ways, whereby there is no one standard way of using it. In recent years we have therefore incorporated several different ways of use into our instructional materials. A Danish occupational therapist recently pointed out to us a new way of taking off that could possibly enable even more people to use the Steve Complete stocking aid. We are happy to share this new method with you.

Taking off the stocking without removing Steve EasyON

In conventional use, you should remove the Steve EasyON (black donning sleeve) from the green base before removing your stocking. This is not necessary with the new method of use, so you can leave the Steve EasyON in the green base. This can offer a solution for users with, for example, rheumatic complaints in their hands, because in this case the push button does not have to be pressed.

Not suitable for all types of compression stockings

This new method of use works well with thicker stockings, but we do not recommend it when you wear thinner compression stockings. Do you wear thin stockings but still want to try if you can remove your stockings in this way? In that case, we advise you to try this first with an old pair of stockings. There is a chance that thin compression stockings will be damaged by taking them off in this way.

Taking off through the shin (without removing Steve EasyON)

This is the fastest and easiest new way to take off your compression stockings without removing the Steve EasyON.

1. You place the ring under the stocking as usual
2. You turn the Steve Complete over and push your stocking down your shin.

Advantage: you do not have to lift your leg, but just pull it out of the stocking.

Taking off through the calf (without removing Steve EasyON)

1. You place the ring under the stocking as usual
2. You remove the stocking by placing the Steve Complete behind your leg as usual, but without first removing the Steve EasyON from the green base.

NB; With this method of use, it is important that you do not have any trouble lifting your leg. If this is the case, we recommend that you follow the conventional method of doffing (with the removal of the Steve EasyON), or opt for the previously described method along the shin.

We recommend that you try both ways and see which one works best for you. As stated before: everyone is different so there is no one optimal way of using the Steve Complete donning aid.
